I was born in Paisley and have lived most of my adult life in Dunoon in Argyll. I graduated from Strathclyde University with a degree in French and went on to teach French for many years. I have since qualified in German and have a First-Class Honours in German from the University of the West of Scotland. I have maintained my fluency in French and German by attending courses at the Alliance Française and the Goethe Institut in Glasgow.
I started out as a guide at Inveraray Castle doing tours in French and German for several years and I have worked as a coach tour guide in English, French and German for the last few years. I love history and since I started to work as a guide, I have enjoyed learning about flora and fauna, archaeology and the geology of Scotland and sharing my knowledge of Scotland with visitors.
As well as coach tours, I offer private guided car tours with a professional driver. The tours can be pre-planned or bespoke - whatever suits your needs. You can enjoy a day exploring west and central Scotland in your own private group and you will have plenty of time at the venues of your choice. See www.argyllexplorer.com for details of tours and more information.
